All hands were on deck at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24, where there was a reported house fire on Ring Road in Salt Point. Crews were able to contain the fire mostly to the garage - which housed an apartment - before it spread to the main house.

The fire destroyed the garage, two cars and a motorcycle that were all inside. Upon arrival, fire crews found the vehicles fully engulfed in flames, officials said.

In total, 45 firefighters from several area fire departments responded to the scene and had the flames knocked down within approximately a half hour. No residents or firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross was called in to provide temporary shelter, food and clothes to two adults and their children, who are 12 and 16 years old. Check Daily Voice for updates.
